Meeting my MSc students
Today, I met my two MSc Cosmetic Science students at Liverpool John Moores University, who did excellently well and completed their summer projects under my supervision in 2023. It was my pleasure to meet them again and see them grow in their professional lives.
One of them is Syamily Menamcheryil Shaji, who is currently working as a formulation technician at Imperial Brands in Liverpool, UK. Her job role is to prepare and test a variety of formulations, including slurries, liquids, granules, and powders of tobacco-less products, with a specialized focus on heated tobacco. In addition, she is creating prototypes for analytical and sensory assessments, supporting diverse projects, and executing pilot production studies to ensure a smooth transition to full-scale manufacturing. Holding two master’s degrees in analytical chemistry and cosmetic science can make her an excellent candidate to harness her expertise in formulation and analysis, coupled with insights gained from industry professionals, to drive innovative advancements and foster continuous growth in her professional career.
Ankita Paul is my other hardworking and enthusiastic student, who is working as a technical and regulatory assistant at Quest Personal Care Ltd. Her primary responsibility is to ensure that all cosmetic products comply with regulatory requirements. That involves ensuring product safety, claim substantiation, managing PIF files, labelling checks, approving product samples for bulk production, exporting products outside the UK, notifying products in different countries, and upholding the highest standards of excellence in all products. Moreover, she is very eager to expand her knowledge regarding AI tools that could be integrated into the system to further streamline the global regulatory procedure. This would ensure minimal chances of errors in the process while complying with regulatory standards worldwide.
I am very impressed by their thinking and keenness in their professional lives, which makes me no doubt to say that you both will definitely do exceptionally well in your careers. I wish you the best of luck.
