ActiveLook Announces New ‘Navigr8’ Cycling App with AR HUD

June 17, 2024 – ActiveLook, a provider of augmented reality (AR) smart glasses technology for outdoor activities and elite athletes, has announced the launch of Navigr8, a new app designed for iPhone and Apple Watch users with ENGO smart glasses.

Navigr8 aims to enhance the cycling experience by offering a range of features that cater to navigation, safety, and performance tracking. Users can view their routes directly on their ActiveLook-powered ENGO smart glasses, and see turn-by-turn and breadcrumb navigation options. The app’s seamless navigation functionality eliminates the need for riders to frequently check their phones and makes route planning and following easier and more intuitive for cyclists.

Navigr8 integrates seamlessly with Apple’s HealthKit platform, Strava and Intervals.icu, allowing users to export workout data in popular file formats. The app also allows cyclists to monitor important metrics such as speed, distance, and elevation. Users can set up their own racing segments and upload their rides directly to Strava, supporting cyclists in tracking their progress and setting goals.

For enhanced safety, Navigr8 also integrates with Garmin Varia Radar, providing real-time alerts for approaching vehicles and enhancing safety by alerting riders of potential hazards approaching from behind.

Additional features of the Navigr8 app include:

  • External Sensors: The app supports various Bluetooth sensors, such as heart rate monitors, power meters, speed, distance, and cadence sensors.
  • Bike Training: Users can compete against a virtual competitor, race live private segments, track laps and splits, and analyze post-workout performance using graphs and maps.
  • Route Planning: An in-app route planning tool allows users to plan rides with turn-by-turn navigation, voice instructions, and custom routes that can be saved for offline use.
  • Workout Library: Navigr8 offers a workout library to organize workout and route files, store them securely on the device or in iCloud, and personalize them with folders and ratings for easy access.
  • Software Power Meter: The app calculates power in real-time from available sensors, helping cyclists train effectively within power zones and track power-derived metrics over time.
  • Extended Battery Features: Navigr8 includes customizable smart screen-dimming and a low power mode to ensure the app is easy on the device’s battery.

A subscription model unlocks full compatibility with ENGO smart glasses and allows users to access all features, with a one-month free trial available to new users.

iPhone users can download the Navigr8 app from the App Store. For more information on ActiveLook and its AR smart glasses technology for ENGO eyewear, please visit the company’s website.
